Doctor Who – Set Photos

Not only is Billie Piper back for a cameo in David Tennant’s final episodes, so is her on-screen mom, Camille Coduri. The two filmed a scene where they walk through the Powell Estate, and they’re having a bit of an argument. Then they hug and make up. Jackie tells Rose happy new year and tries to tell her not to stay out all night. “Try and stop me,” Rose replies. Then she comes around the corner and runs into the Doctor, who’s staggering and convulsed with pain, clutching the wall. He asks her what year it is, and she says 2005. (So Rose hasn’t actually met the Doctor yet.) He tells her he’s sure she’ll have a fantastic year. Then he has a startling confrontation with Ood Sigma, whom he also meets in this fall’s “Waters Of Mars.” The Daily Mail article also repeats the earlier, somewhat suspect, claim that Claire Bloom is playing “the Doctor’s mother.” (Some of the pics showing Tennant and Piper laughing are from between takes.) The CW won’t unveil its final line-up for the Fall season until this Thursday, May 21 but Los Angeles Times has written in its report that “Vampire Diaries” is already given a thumb up. If the report were true then the series based on LJane Smith’s novel series is the first to be officially picked up.

Starring Ian Somerhalder as Damon and Paul Wesley as Stefan, “Vampire Diaries” is the story of two vampire brothers, one good one evil, who are at war over the soul of a young woman named Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev). The CW President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff said previously, “It taps into what women have been fascinated with for years. …It’s a great story about a young woman who is in a love triangle between two brothers. It’s all about her life. We like that it’s romantic and dangerous all at the same time.”

Last week it had been reported that The CW has given permission for the hiring of staff for the series. Also taking similar progress is the refurbished version of “Melrose Place”.

The Fall schedule of The CW will contain at least “90210“, “Gossip Girl“, “Supernatural” and “America’s Next Top Model”. The fate of “Privileged” and “Reaper” meanwhile, is expected to be formally announced Thursday along with the already goners “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Game”.

FOX, which is scheduled to announce its Fall line-up on Monday, May 18, has put its faith in “Bones” but crushed the hope for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” fans. While “Bones” is getting two seasons order, “Terminator” is officially canceled following two low rating seasons.

The renewal of “Bones” comes on the heels of fierce negotiations between the producer 20th Century Fox and the FOX studio over the show’s license fee. There was a time when “Bones” was pitched to other networks that may want to pick up the fifth season. However, as confirmed by creator Cart Hanson via his Twitter, both parties have reached a deal and “Bones” will continue in FOX for season 5 and 6.

As for “Terminator”, it was somewhat expected since the season finale in April, which did not help in the overall rating. Nevertheless, hope was sparked when FOX decided to renew its Friday partner “Dollhouse” that also received low ratings. But in its latest report about bubble series, EW confirms that “Terminator” is officially terminated.

With the renewal and the cancellation, it is likely that the Fall schedule in FOX will include “Bones”, “House M.D.”, “24“, “Dollhouse”, “Lie to Me”, “Fringe”, “‘Til Death”, “American Idol”, “The Simpsons”, “Kitchen Nightmares” and “American Dad”.

Meanwhile, joining “Terminator” under the bed are “Sit Down, Shut Up”, “Prison Break” and “King of the Hill”.
