Sin Is In!

This hit British comedy series began as a short sketch on French & Saunders with Jennifer Saunders (Happy Families, Girls On Top) in her familiar role as Eddy and Dawn French playing her daughter. A pilot for the series was filmed with the comediennes in those respective roles but studio execs didn’t believe that French could pull off playing a teenage girl so the part was recast and up-and-coming star Julia Sawalha (Press Gang, Second Thoughts) won the role of Saffy. Add a dash of actress Joanna Lumley (Cluedo, Sapphire and Steel, The New Avengers) and the immensly popular and entertaining series was born. It remains one of the BBC’s highest rated shows.
