Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen – Plot Details and Synopsis
When the story begins, the Autobots and the military have been waging a secret war against the Decpticons. As more of the giant robots continue to resurface, though, it becomes apparent the Transformers have been part of Earth’s history for longer than they’d led mankind to believe. One group of bureaucrats even womders if the Decepticons are only appearing because of the Autobot presence. Desperate not to leave Earth undefended, Optimus Prime turns to Sam and asks him to become a human advocate, someone who will convince mankind that the Autobots should be allowed to saty. Sam refuses to believe he can help, though, wanting to go to college and live a normal life – as normal as possible with the strange thoughts and visions that have haunted him since being exposed to the All Spark’s primal energies two years earlier. Alas, Sam’s refusal will have harsh consequences for himself, the Autobots and possibly the entire world. The Decepticons fallen leader, Megatron has been resurrected and brings with him an ancient evil from the Transformers own history.
“All great sequels have an incredibly frightening bad guy,” says Kurtzman, amending their earlier list of traits, “who challenges your hero in a way that is unique,” They found such a character in the comic-book Transformers mythology, a primordial creature known only as The Fallen. “He was one of the first Transformers. He was Lucifer. He was the fallen angel. And it just felt like a great place to come from.”
Empire Online has published progress report for “Thor” and “The Avengers” following an interview with President of Production at Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. Addressing on the two Marvel’s upcoming superhero movies, Feige dishes on the potential timeline for “Thor” casting announcements and on Zak Penn’s work on “Avengers”.
In the first place, the studio executive reveals that Marvel “will probably be having cast announcements in the next month or so on Thor.” Still, he further mentions that the casting announcements may not be about the lead role. “We’re looking to cast Loki and Odin soon, and the main female role,” he says. “And we’ll also hopefully have lockdown shortly, gearing towards the beginning of production, which will be early next year. So I think there will be a lot of announcements between now and then.”
On the development of the project itself, Feige goes on explaining that director Kenneth Branagh is busy devising the action sequences. “But Branagh’s here, we’re prepping, and he’s put together some spectacular animatics already for our first action scene,” he says. “We’re digging into the second and third now, and we are just embarking on a rewrite of the draft.”
As for “The Avengers”, he suggests that “The Incredible Hulk” writer Zak Penn is figuring out how to tie together “Iron Man“, “Thor” and “The First Avenger: Captain America”. “Zak Penn is already on board The Avengers [as writer] and he’s spending a lot of his time looking into what we’re doing with Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, seeing how we’re tying it all together,” he states. “And he’s beginning to outline the script now – he’ll be doing that over the summer.”
“Thor” tells the story of disabled medical student Donald Blake, whose alter ego is a hammer-wielding Norse god Thor, while “The Avengers” will bring together the super hero team of Marvel Comics characters, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and others, to battle the biggest foe they’ve ever faced. “Thor” is set for May 20, 2011 U.S. release and “Avengers” will come out in the U.S. on May 4, 2012.

Warner Bros. Pictures have unleashed a batch of new images from “Sherlock Holmes” through USA Today. Most of the photos take their focus on the two main characters, Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock and Jude Law’s Dr. Watson, while a couple of them tag along Rachel McAdams’ Irene Adler and Mark Strong’s villainous Lord Blackwood.
The freshly-released pictures tease on some of the actions to be seen as well as the drama to be expected. In one of the images, Sherlock is captured practicing his bartitsu skills in fighting two baddies who are blocking his way through the catacombs of London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. In another one, he and Adler flee for their lives “during a harrowing sequence inside a pig slaughterhouse.”
Photos of Holmes and Watson checking out a laboratory for clues to a murder and enjoying a cup of tea inside their Baker Street flat are also included in the set. Two other pics give Lord Blackwood behind bars, revealing his evil plan to Sherlock who is standing on the opposite end, and Watson wandering the crowded London street.
Along with the pictures, USA Today included a detailed set report. The “Early Look” piece described how the set looks like and contained quotes from the set with director Guy Ritchie and the two stars, Downey Jr. and Law. In addition, the report also made note that the first trailer of this drama thriller should be expected to come out with “Terminator Salvation” on May 21.
The first major big-screen version of “Sherlock Holmes” in more than 20 years, “Sherlock Holmes” will present a new portrayal of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters. The movie will see Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson on their latest challenge. Having lethal fighting skills in addition to his legendary intellect, Holmes attempts to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country. This Warner Bros. film is due for U.S. release on December 25.

A solo movie for one particular “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” mutant character, Deadpool, is being pushed forward. Splash Page MTV has come up with the story, claiming that there is official word on “Deadpool” being in active development and that the spin-off will have Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the mutant assassin known also as Wade Wilson.
The official word on “Deadpool” movie being made came up soon after “Wolverine 2″ was announced. A Fox insider reportedly informed MTV that “Deadpool” will have Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel as the producers. Though the studio are still seeking for writers, the proposed project is said to be an exploration of the character’s background, and how he goes from being a part of the Weapon X project to becoming the mask-wearing Merc with the Mouth.
Talks about Deadpool getting a spin-off treatment have made its round long before “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” hit theaters last Friday, May 1. The idea has been thrown in by producer Lauren Schuler Donner, former 20th Century Fox Studio Exec Jeff Katz and even the character’s depicter himself, Ryan Reynolds. One of the post-credit scenes featuring Deadpool in “Wolverine” has also given clue that such a project was being considered.

A sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is in development. Following a successful run of the “X-Men” spin-off at the box office over the weekend, Variety claimed that both 20th Century Fox and Seed Productions partners, Hugh Jackman and John Palermo, have begun planning the follow-up movie.
“Wolverine 2″ is expected to focus its story on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series. One of the film’s after-credits easter egg endings has hinted on the possible plot, presenting Logan drinking in a Japanese bar. So far, no writer has been hired to pen the sequel, but “Slumdog Millionaire” scribe Simon Beaufoy had mentioned during an appearance at 2009 Bradford International Film Festival, which ran from March 13 to 28, that he had been approached.
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” itself was opened in the U.S. on May 1. A prequel to the “X-Men” trilogy, it chronicles the violent and romantic early life of the titular character, including his participation on the Weapon X program and his complex relationship with Victor Creed. It has pulled in as much as $85.1 million from its North American market and dug up $158.2 million worldwide.
On another “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” news, Variety broke down that FX Network has acquired TV rights to the movie starring Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds and Danny Huston. The latest in a series of big movie deals at the network, the deal reportedly could be worth $80 million or more, depending on “Wolverine” overall sales.
Having hinted earlier the possibility of Raza being the villainous Mandarin in “Iron Man 3“, Faran Tahir spoke more on his character’s future. When asked by Star Pulse on whether or not the rumor is true, he has this to say, “I don’t know. My answer to that is that we created the character, not by accident, but by design, with a vague future.”
“You can spin it many different ways and it should make sense, was the idea,” the 46-year-old continues explaining. “One is this guy who has a connection to Mandarin at some point…or is this guy someone who might become Mandarin at some point? There’s a case to be made – and a pretty good one – that two guys, who in the belly of a cave, almost like a womb, emerge out of that womb and one becomes Iron Man and one becomes Mandarin. There’s a case to be made for that.”
Back in April, the Starship Kelvin Captain Robau in “Star Trek” coyly hinted on Raza turning to be Mandarin in potential third film of “Iron Man”. “Is he the conduit to Mandarin?” he said. “Does he become Mandarin? Is it just another leader of the Ten Rings, you know, thing? All the allusions [in] my first speech was all about Genghis Khan and all that, which is Mandarin’s thing, you know? So I think they have created the character and the storyline very wisely. To leave it as open as possible so whatever they need to, you know, pull from, they will.”
Meanwhile, “Iron Man” sequel, “Iron Man 2″, has started its principal photography Monday, April 6. Director Jon Favreau is back once again serving as the helmer for the superhero adaptation, while Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow reprise their roles as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Pepper Potts. The two will be joined by Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke. For this movie, Faran Tahir’s character Raza reportedly isn’t involved. The film is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 7, 2010.

Few more clues for “Terminator Salvation” story have been revealed through the action thriller’s extended plot synopsis. The synopsis came out after Warner Bros. Pictures released their official production notes. It began, “The year is 2018. Judgment Day has come and gone, leveling modern civilization.” “An army of Terminators roams the post-apocalyptic landscape, killing or collecting humans where they hide in the desolate cities and deserts,” the plot further read. “But small groups of survivors have organized into a Resistance, hiding in underground bunkers and striking when they can against an enemy force that vastly outnumbers them.”
“Controlling the Terminators is the artificial intelligence network Skynet, which became self-aware 14 years earlier and, in the blink of an eye, turned on its creators, unleashing nuclear annihilation on an unsuspecting world. Only one man saw Judgment Day coming. One man, whose destiny has always been intertwined with the fate of human existence: John Connor (Christian Bale). Now the world is on the brink of the future that Connor has been warned about all his life.”
“But something totally new has shaken his belief that humanity stands a chance of winning this war: the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger from the past whose last memory is of being on death row before awakening in this strange, new world. Connor must decide whether Marcus can be trusted. But as Skynet adapts new strategies to end the Resistance forever, Connor and Marcus must find common ground to take a stand against the onslaught – to infiltrate Skynet and meet the enemy head-on.”
Providing more info, director McG gushed, “We’re telling the story of the world after Judgment Day. This is the story of the becoming of John Connor, the becoming of Kyle Reese, the strengthening of Skynet, and where our humanity ultimately lies. This is the moment when mankind takes a stand against the machines.”
Starring Sam Worthington and Christian Bale, “Teminator Salvation” also has Anton Yelchin, Common and Helena Bonham Carter among the cast ensemble. Written by Jonathan Nolan, John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris, this Warner Bros. Pictures movie is set for U.S. release on May 21.
