Christopher Gorham has closed a deal to reprise his role as Betty’s ex-love Henry, setting the stage for a geektastic showdown with her current beau, Matt (Daniel Eric Gold).
Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta confirms to me exclusively that Gorham — who’s currently trying to stay alive on CBS’ Harper’s Island — will reappear in the show’s two-hour finale on May 21 when Betty runs into Henry and his new girlfriend in the Big Apple. To prove to themselves that they’ve moved on, Betty and Henry agree to go on a double date to a Mets game with their respective significant others. Good times, right? Not exactly…
“As Henry and Betty reconnect, it could potentially threaten her relationship with Matt,” teases Horta, who adds that he’s “really happy” to have Gorham back in the fold. “Chris has always been, and will always be, part of the Ugly Betty family.”
But how big a part of the family will he be? Horta isn’t saying whether Gorham will be back in the fall, which leaves me with no other choice than to pose the following question to you fine folks: Who are you rooting for: Team Matt or Team Henry? Betty is very ambitious girl and her only dream is to shine in the publishing business. Betty Suarez is experiencing the world of high fashion where figure is everything and wafer –thin beauties are successful. The only problem with Betty is that she is not thin and is not a good looking young woman. But the destiny is with her.
Betty is hired by publisher Bradford Meade as assistant to his son Daniel, the new editor of the high-fashion “Mode” magazine, and the reason is that he thought Betty was only one with Daniel (His son) would never sleep with. With her hard work and determination, Betty earns his heart as she helps him to get out of many difficult situations.
Betty has a strong support group which includes her father Ignacio, her sister, Hilda, her fellow employee and friend Christina. The series is actually based on Colombian telenovela “Yo Soy Betty La Fea (I am ugly Betty)” and has been already translated in Russia, Mexico, Germany and India.
The series won a Golden Globe in 2007 for Best Comedy or Musical Series.

The Ugly Betty TV show is a drama series on ABC. In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants are the wafer-thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl (a slightly plump plain-Jane from Queens) possibly fit in? If you took a moment to get to know Betty Suarez, you’d see how sweet, intelligent and hard-working she is. But few people do because, in the world of fashion, Betty is the oversized square peg in the petite round hole. When publishing mogul Bradford Meade hands the reigns of his fashion magazine, Mode, over to his son, Daniel, he specifically hires Betty as his son’s new assistant - mostly because she’s the only woman in NYC Daniel won’t sleep with. Though this “player” is reluctant to accept her at first, Betty’s indomitable spirit and bright ideas will eventually win him over. Neither of them really knows the ins and outs of the fashion world, but the two of them are a formidable team against the label-wearing sharks who will do anything to see them fail.

Ugly Betty is based on the popular Colombian soap opera, “Yo Soy Betty La Fea” (”I am Betty, the Ugly One” in English) and modified for U.S. audiences by producer Salma Hayek! Yo Soy Betty La Fea was so successfull in Columbia that the show has been adapted and aired in numerous nations including India, Brasil, Germany, Malaysia, the Philippines, Holland, Hungary, Israel, Greece, the Czech Republic, and China! A Mexican version of Ugly Betty titled, “La fea mas bella (The most beautiful ugly woman)” debuted in the U.S. on “Univision” before the English version, airing its first episode on April 24, 2006.
Ugly Betty was preliminarily titled, “Betty the Ugly” (a slightly Americanized version of the literal translation of the Columbian soap opera) but the name was changed early in pre-production so that it would make even more sense to U.S viewers.
