Nina Garcia is Running in Heels
You know the old saying, “looking good is the best revenge?” Well, looking good on television is even better. To that end, Nina Garcia, the acid-tongued Columbian judge on Project Runway, is appearing on a new reality show. Garcia will be starring on Style Network’s new series, Running in Heels. Heels follows the staff at women’s magazine Marie Claire, which Garcia joined a short while ago after leaving her long-time position at Elle magazine.
Garcia’s split from Elle was allegedly not on the best terms, so it’s probably extra sweet for her that Running in Heels is a direct competitor to CW’s Stylista; a reality competition show taking place at, you guessed it — Elle magazine.
While the shows may be in a similar vein, the formats are quite different. Stylista features Elle staffers competing for a job as Assistant to Editor Anne Slowey, while Heels showcases the work/life dynamic of its staffers. It focuses on 15 Marie Claire employees, with two being highlighted each week. Although sources within the show won’t confirm, Garcia is likely to star.
Nina Garcia is always the judge that PR designers are most afraid of, so it’ll be interesting to see what she’s like in the office. I picture terrified minions running around while Garcia stalks around the office muttering about “that damn Oompa Loompa Kors” and screaming “don’t bore Nina!” when people get her the wrong flavor of herbal tea. Man, I hope that’s even halfway true, because if it is, this is going to be the greatest show ever.
